Group Access Manager - Advanced Search (Searching any Group)

Action

The advanced search feature allows you to conduct a search against all groups being managed by the Group Access Manager. You can search for any available group attribute- including individual members, owners, and group names. This is useful for determining an individual's group membership or ownership.

Instructions

  1. From the home screen of the Group Access Manager, Under where it says Security Groups (SGs), click on My SGs.

  2. On the next screen, click on Advanced Search to open the advanced search pane.

  3.  The advanced search will automatically fill in some fields. Click on the X to the right of all of them to clear everything out for a fresh search.

  4. When everything is cleared, click on Add Statement

  5. Click on <Click to select attribute>

  6. This will open a list of attributes you can search for. For example, if you would like to find out the group membership of an individual, you would select Manually-managed Membership. If you wanted to know what groups have a particular person assigned as the Displayed Owner, you would select that instead.

  7. After selecting your group attribute, click on <click to select value> to the right. This will open a new window where you can enter your search terms. Enter a person's name or netid and click on the hourglass icon. When they appear in the search results, click the box to the left of their name, and click Ok.

  8. Click on the Search button to conduct your search.

If your search returns no results, double check the attributes you are looking for, and the person you are searching for. If you would like assistance utilizing this powerful feature, please contact the Identity and Access Management Group.
