The ITS Windows resource access audit mailing notification can encompass a variety of Windows resources in which a manager is responsible for. Most windows resources are self-explanatory; however, there are a few that have been further defined.

Types of Windows resources (shared folders, UAlbany Mail, permission groups etc.)

Active Directory Permissions – Groups that provide special rights to Active Directory OUs and objects

Departmental – Groups that provide access to resources on departmental servers

Virtualization Software (VMWARE) access

Virtual Private Network access (VPN) – Groups that provide special IP address assignments when logging into the VPN
