Get a Bypass Code - Current Users

If you are a current Duo user, and you don't have access to your registered device, your device stopped working unexpectedly, or was lost/stolen, a Bypass code can be utilized to grant temporary access.  Request a self-service Bypass code when the need arises, until you are able to obtain your registered device or set up a replacement. The Bypass code will provide secure temporary access for 24 hours. 

Do not confuse the Bypass code with activating your device.  The Bypass code is a secure temporary workaround that will allow you to authenticate if you are having various issues (similar to the above) or if your Duo account is not fully set up. 

Request your Duo Bypass Code

  1. Go to UAlbany's Confirm Your Identity page - https://uapps.albany.edu:8443/itspwdmaint/forgotpwd.htm

  2. Select Continue on Get Duo Bypass code option.

  3. Enter your SSN or Albany ID, DOB, PIN and Select ‘Next’

  4. If you Forgot your Pin, please follow the Instructions to request Pin.

  5. Copy and store your Duo Bypass code in a secure location.

  6. An email will be sent to your inbox, once Bypass code is generated.
